Mark Hadley Snr - 28/07/07 Joined in 1981. Has held every main role in the club: Chairman 2005, Club Captain 1988 & 2000, Secretary 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 & 2005. Treasurer in 1992. Captained the Smethwick 'A' side to Division 1 honours in 1994. Captained the West Bromwich team seven times: 1985, 1986, 1987, 1993, 2001, 2002 & 2003. Back to back West Bromwich Division 1 titles in 2001 & 2002. 16 club competition finals. Club Champion 1986 & 2007, runner up 1992. Handicap winner 1997, runner up 2002 & 2006. Chairmans Shield winner 1991. Nine Club Pairs finals, winner in 1989, 2001 & 2004. Pairs runner up in 1988, 1997, 1999, 2002, 2006 & 2007. Bowler Of The Year in 1987. Inducted as our 13th Life Member in 2007 for over 25 years of active service.

Malcolm Spencer - 28/07/07 Joined in 1975 and along with Bill Adams is the only player currently at the club who played the first W&W season in 1978. Secretary: 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980 & 1985. Treasurer 1990 & 1991. 26 seasons for the club over two spells (1975~1998 & 2006~ Present). 11 club competition finals. Never won the Club Championship but appeared in five finals: 1983, 1988, 1991, 1993 & 2007. Won the Handicap in 1983, Chairmans Shield 1984, Pairs 1986 and Roy Freeman Cup 1994. Also Pairs runner up in 1979 & 1987. Bowler Of The Year in 1984 and from information available has won the W&W Alliance averages 5 times: 1987, 1990, 1991, 1995, 1998. Inducted as our 9th Life Member in 2007 for a 30 year association with the club. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ollie Newman - 10/11/07 19 seasons for Broomfield during two periods with the club: 1982 ~ 1987 and 1995 ~ 2007. Appeared in four Club Championship finals, runner up in 1996 and 1997 before winning the competition in 2000 and 2002. Won the Club Handicap in 1986, runner up in 1983. Was the last winner of the Roy Freeman Cup in 1995 before we merged it with the Club Championship. Named Club Person Of The Year in 2006 and nominated as Arse Of The Year in 1996, 1999 and 2002! Won the W&W Premier averages in 2003 (+71), 2006 (+80) and 2007 (+129) as well as +111 in 2005. Won the Oldbury 'A' averages in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2006 (+149) and 2007 (+179). Smethwick 'A' average winner in 2000, 2002 (+144), 2003 (+130), 2005 (+143), 2006 (+148) and 2007 (+124). Also won the West Bromwich 'B' averages in 1984 and Oldbury 'B' averages in 1986. In his very first season he compiled a plus of 71 in the Oldbury 'B'. He took on the Oldbury 'A' captaincy in 1998 and did the double, winning Division 1 and the Cup. In 1999 he was Club Captain and became the only person to captain the W&W Premier team in Division 1 with no home defeats. His first captaincy came in 1986 for the Oldbury 'B' who were runners up in Division 3. Smethwick Ex's Open winner in 1995. Ran the bonus ball fundraiser from 1997 ~ 2004 and was made a Life Member in 2002 for the money he has raised the club. In 2006 he equalled Paul Freeman's feat of winning all three 'A' team averages in a season then repeated this in 2007. Runner up in the Pheasant Pairs in 2005 (w/ Nigel Freeman) and 2006 (w/ Matt Barnwell). Announced that 2007 would be his final season for the club, signing off with an outstanding season: Played 78, Won 67, +572 with a best score of 21-0. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Keith Underhill Joined the club in 1985 from Smethwick Ex's. The only player to win the Neale Cup (1986) and the Roy Freeman Cup (1993). Won the Chairman's Shield in 1993 and the Ken Wharton Handicap in 2002. Handicap runner up in 1986. Appeared in two Club Pairs finals (1989 & 2003). Captained the West Bromwich team on four occasions: 1994, 1995, 1997 & 1998 and also won the West Bromwich averages three times: 1997, 1998 & 1999. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Matt Barnwell - 29/07/06 Joined in 1998 from the George. In his first two seasons he made it to the final of the Club Championship, losing 14-21 to Peter Nichols in 1998 and 20-21 to Paul Freeman in 1999. In 2004 he again made the final only to lose 17-21 to Nigel Freeman. In 2006 he took the title with a 21-20 victory over John Wilson. Arse Of The Year 2005. Smethwick 'B' Club & League Average winner 2005 (+128). Played 45 games in 2006 but only took part in 2 games in 2007. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Phil High - 15/07/06 Joined in April 1999 from R.S.J.C. Chairman in 2001, Club Captain in 2005 (Division 2 Champions) and 2006 (Our 6th Premier Div 1 Captain). Smethwick 'B' average winner 2004 & 2007. One club competition final, Club Pairs runner up 2007. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jonathan Blakeman - 15/07/06 Chairmans Shield winner 1997. Club Pairs winner 1997 & 2007, runner up 1998 & 2002. Handicap runner up 2003. Youngest club competition winner in 1997 aged 12 and youngest captain in 1998 aged 13. West Bromwich 'B' captain 1998, W&W Alliance captain 2003 & 2005. Dudley captain 2003. Oldbury 'A' captain 2007. Dudley average winner 2004. West Bromwich average winner 2004 & 2005. W&W Alliance average winner 2005. Club Person Of The Year 2003 & 2007.

Barney Coleman - 17/07/06 Made his Broomfield debut in August 1997 joining us from the George. Spent many seasons at The Old Chapel. W&W Alliance captain in 2001. Was part of a successful team for the W&W Alliance and West Bromwich sides during the late 1990's and early 2000's. Played only 13 games in 2005 and has not been able to bowls since due to health reasons. Still a dedicated supporter. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
John Wilson - 29/07/06 Since joining us from the Wernley in 2006, John has played 128 games for Broomfield, winning 92 of them. He has featured in 91 'A' games. Made the Club Championship final in his first season losing 20-21 to Matt Barnwell. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Keith Lawlor - 15/07/06 Joined as a youngster in 1976 before moving to Smethwick Ex's after the end of the 1983 season along with Gary Clewer and Norman Robertson. Returned to his roots in 2001 and in 2007 completed 15 seasons for Broomfield. 6 club competition finals. Handicap winner in 1981 beating Roy Freeman in the final. Handicap runner up in 2001 & 2005. Club Championship runner up in 2005. Chairmans Shield runner up 1982. Pairs runner up 2004. Bowler Of The Year 1981. Club Person Of The Year 2004. Oldbury 'B' captain 1982, West Bromwich 'A' captain 1983. Smethwick 'A' captain 2004, 2005 & 2007. His first W&W Premier season for the club was in 1982 in Division 8. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sheila Newman & Frank Newman Two spells at Broomfield 1979 ~ 1986 & 1993 ~ Present. 23 seasons for the club. Club Captain 2007. Secretary 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2006, 2007. Oldbury 'A' captain 2001, 2002, 2003. West Bromwich captain 2006. Greenkeeper 2007. Club Handicap winner 1985. Won the Club Pairs in 2006 with Nigel Freeman. Sheila Newman was nominated Club Person Of The Year in 2000, Frank in 2002. Frank received the Arse Of The Year Award in 1995 & 2003. First Broomfiled bowler to receive the 'brush' in the Warwick & Worcester, losing 21-0 on The Raven to B.T.Jones on 18th June 1983. Part of the first Broomfield pairing to win the Roy Freeman Mixed Doubles in 1996 with daughter Denise. Sheila Newman now runs the bonus ball fundraiser and is also Secretary for the Oldbury League. Frank currently holds roles in the Oldbury and West Bromwich leagues. In 2007 Frank was inducted as our 11th Life Member for over 20 years of active service. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
John Wilson & Denise Killion Oldbury & District Bowling League: Gerald Wilson Pairs Winners 2007. Denise became the first woman bowler to feature on the cup in its 35 year history. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
