SECTION RULES

  1. For the purpose of competitive bowling only the section shall be called BROOMFIELD BOWLING CLUB.
  1. The objects of the section shall be : -
    • To promote crown green bowling according to the wishes of its members.
    • To maintain the up keep of the green surrounds to the limitations available.
    • To encourage its members into participation of such social and financial activities within the club.

  1. The Committee shall comprise of a Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, ‘A’ team captains from; Warwick & Worcester, Oldbury, West Bromwich and Smethwick and two other members to be elected at the A.G.M. held in February. The Committee quorum to be 5 out of 9 members present.  In the absence of the Chairman, a Deputy Chairman to be elected for that meeting.
  1. Selection Committee to consist of the Chairman and Captains of each league team.  Secretary to be ex-offcio on all sub-committees.
  2. All, and only full members shall be entitled to vote at the A.G.M  No proxy votes will be accepted.  The Club Steward (if a bowls section member) shall be allowed to vote with the exception of the election Chairman.
  3. A list accepting nominations for Officers / Captains to be displayed on the notice board one month before the A.G.M. and removed one week prior to the A.G.M.  Nominees will not be considered for office if absent from the A.G.M. unless an apology is tendered and accepted by the meeting.
  4. Notification regarding proposed rule changes to be in the possession of the Secreatary 7 days before the A.G.M
  5. Members may only hold one team captaincy during the season.
  6. Only persons approved by the Committee shall be accepted as members, all new members, members being fully conversant with rules relating to Section and Club along with their own responsibilities.
  7. Full members of the section must have their first commitment to Broomfield Bowling Club.  Priority will be given to Full Members for selection in league fixtures and league cup competitions.
  8. Use of the green by any other club, team or individual, shall be by the authority of, and controlled by, the Committee.
  9. All players / visitors to wear flat soled footwear.
  10. Visitors on to the green shall at all times be at the discretion of the Committee.  Members shall be limited to ONE visitor each if the green is heavily occupied.  No visitors to be allowed on the green during pre-match practice.
  11. The Committee shall have the power to deal with members who infringe these rules or any such rules as may be made throughout the season to the meet the requirements thereof.
  12. All other matters not covered by the rules, and relating to the section shall be dealt with by the Committee and their decision shall be final.
